As Age of Conan is around the corner, the guild is preparing for release. The requirements for recruitment have been raised and the standard will be set by the guild leaders. With the final stages of the game coming to a close and the lack of a free open beta, the guild is getting a professional revamp to the guilds heart and soul.

Many of our members have made their plans for pre-release date from collecting their supplies for the 72 hour grind fest to 80 to taking off a week from work to level. The dedication will be shown through there time put in. Though skill is not the same as time played, many of our members are willing to show our guild leaders that they are meant to be in this guild. Can you handle the insomnia you may face?

Since the delay, many of our members have decided to upgrade their computers in order to play this game. I myself have found myself in need of a new computer. The time and money we have spent in order to experience this game to its potential and though this is not an FPS were each frame will matter, it will matter if you get graphical lag during our Guild Vs. Guild sieges.

The skill level and standard has been set by our Guild Leadership with Krol and Oxus hitting 80. They know what it takes to be the best. They have been in a #1 raiding guild in WoW, have grinded for rank 14 (which for you people that do not know takes at least 4 months to acquire), and know talent when they see it. They have set the standard by knowing what it takes to hit 80 and what it takes to be in Rising Arms. As our leadership many of the members feel safe with our current leadership and trust them in their decisions.

Meeting Information

Barbaroi (Councilman) quickly went over the battlekeep and guild city situation and on how we will need to not only hit 80 but continue to farm to maintain the number one spot. The keep and city will be a vital part to our success in Age of Conan and will be required from all of our members. On the other side, PvE will be apart of this guild but not required.

There is an opening for a position of Guild Diplomat. This will involve guild relations and guild alliances. This is not an easy position and will require interviews from everyone of the applicants. Expectations from this position are much higher than the average militant. Your role will be increased but your job will need to be accomplished. Squad Leader position are open. They will be required to be in 90% of the sieges. They will be in charge of the sieges and will be communicating to the guild leaders and squad commander of what needs to be done. If you feel like you hold good respect in the guild and with your fellow guild mates or just feel like you can lead, private message one of the Guild Masters for more information or if you would like to apply.

Q&A

  • For the 3 weeks to lvl 80, does that include the early release? No it will start from commercial release
  • When will the new site be up? Possibly by Sunday
  • Will there be down time? There will be no downtime because we are on a new host
  • Will we need to re-register for the forums? Yes, new forums mean new starts
  • What will the groups type be? They will be balanced based upon how we see it will be
  • When will the class post be up? In a week, for people to think about
  • Will it be first come first serve or what? No details on it yet but will be provided when we post
  • Was there a target guild size? Our original target size was 50 but we want 75 outstanding players but will based upon experience in siege
  • Will squads be moved around? It will depend on what we have for the day and what special situations will occur
  • If the guild size is 75 and raids will be 24, how will we do that? Most of our guild will not want to do PvE anyways but even if we did two raids those raids should succeed because of the quality of our members
  • Are there an expected behavior for the guild? We need to hold ourselves at a higher level. We are not a griefing guild. Don’t kill people unless it serves a purpose. Kill people taking your mobs, not grinding next to you.
  • FLAME WARS ACCOMPLISH NOTHING
  • Will there be guild wide leveling? No, we want you to be self sufficient and adjust to what you will need to level

Many people are wondering how the 3 day early access program will work. The text says:

3-Day Early Access Program

With your pre-order Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures, you will be able to participate in the 3-day Early Access Program. Early access period starts on May 17, 3 days before the commercial release on May 20, 2008. You may begin downloading the game client files and installing as early as May 14. With early access, there is a nominal fee of $5, which covers the cost of the download and includes 10 days of additional game time.

Based upon how you setup the 3 day early access program it will happen like this. You will enter the code for the pre-order item (such as War Mammoth) and it will allow you to set up the 3 day early access program. When the release date comes, you will require the game key in order to continue playing the game.

Currently there is no plan for a cap on the 3 day early access program and the estimated in-game time to hit 80 is 3 days hardcore and 5 days casual.

Vengeance is mine 5 ranks: Your attacks have a chance of increasing your vengeance counter, this effect can happen at most once every 10 seconds. 8
Lightning Reflexes 1 rank: Improves polearm combos that involves evasion by increasing the chance for the effect to trigger and the amount that the evade skill increases. 9
Combo stormstrike 1 rank: Grants the guardian the lightning charged attack combo stormstrike, that batters all nearby and flings them away.


Open Beta

With early-release date approaching fast, everyone has had on their minds when open beta will be coming. Well it turns out that it will be happening soon but at a price. Fileplanet has the rights to Age of Conan’s open beta and has a catch to getting one of their keys. You are required to be a Subscriber, which will cost you at least 15 dollars for 3 months. But on top of that, you are only allowed to level up to 13. This means you can experience the Tortage area but not actually finish it. Many people would say it is not worth it and others say anything to get ahead.
